Super Rugby officials will today confirm three teams will be axed from the current 18 team competition.
As reported by 1 NEWS on March 15, SANZAAR bosses will cut two South African sides, including the Southern Kings, and one from Australia.
The respective national unions need to decide which teams will be dropped.
Tonight's announcement won't confirm which teams are being cut, but the Australian Rugby Union is meeting today, with a clearer indication on which side they'll axe possibly being revealed tomorrow.
1 NEWS understands broadcasting rights have been re-negotiated for a 15 team competition from next year, one major sticking point which officials have now cleared.
