Sam Cane out, Lienert-Brown and Weber play 50th games for Chiefs against Stormers

May 11, 2018
Dave Rennie says Ngatai has played enough minutes at club level to be considered for selection this weekend.

The Chiefs will be without co-captain Sam Cane when they come up against the Stormers in Cape Town this week, while Brad Weber and Anton Lienert-Brown will each bring up their 50th matches for the side.

After last week's loss to the Jaguares in Rotorua, coach Colin Cooper has rung the changes for his side's trip to South Africa, welcoming a number of key players back into the side.

All Blacks forwards Nathan Harris and Brodie Retallick both return to the starting side, while the exciting duo of Johnn Faauli and Shaun Stevenson also come back into the squad.

Sam Cane has stayed at home with an abdominal strain, leaving Charlie Ngatai as captain in his absence.

The Chiefs will face the Stormers at 1:05am on Sunday morning NZT.
