Ryan Crotty hoping to make a 'few more memories' with Crusaders before departure

April 2, 2019

Ryan Crotty may have announced he's leaving New Zealand at the end of year, but he still has plenty he wants to do with both the Crusaders and All Blacks before then.

Crotty announced yesterday he was heading to Japanese club Kubota Spears next year when his current deal with New Zealand Rugby runs out.

He took to social media to confirm the announcement and thank fans for their support.

"The Crusaders have been a massive part of my life for over a decade and are a team I hold very dear to my heart.

"I know there's plenty of rugby still to play in 2019, some of my fondest memories have been in the red and black so here's to creating a few more before the year is out."

Crotty's message was delivered with a husky voice after the midfielder was injured in Friday's win over the Hurricanes.

Crotty, 30, has played 142 Super Rugby matches for the Crusaders and 44 Tests for the All Blacks.
