Rieko Ioane the only All Black selected in 'World XV team of the week'

September 18, 2018
The All Blacks' winger says he’s happy to play anywhere for his country.

All Blacks winger Rieko Ioane is the sole Kiwi representative in Planet Rugby's team of the week , following South Africa's 36-34 win in Wellington on Saturday.

After the All Blacks dominated last weekend's world XV , following their 46-24 win over Argentina in Nelson, Planet Rugby's most recent selection is reflective of South Africa's brilliant victory in the capital.

The Springboks first win in New Zealand since 2009 has warranted a whopping eight of 15 selections, while Argentina have five after their win over the Wallabies on the Gold Coast. The All Blacks and Wallabies have one selection each to round out the XV.

South African pair Willie le Roux and Aphiwe Dyanti's heroics have been reflected in their inclusion, with the pair joined by All Blacks winger Rieko Ioane in the back three.

In midfield, Wallabies star Reece Hodge's display against Argentina results in his selection, joined by the Pumas' own Jeronimo de la Fuente.

Pumas first-five Nicolas Sanchez is joined by Springboks halfback Faf de Klerk in the halves pairing.

The loose forward trio is again dominated by South Africa, with Warren Whiteley and Pieter-Steph du Toit joined by Argentina's Marcos Kremer.

The tight-five sees another Springboks-Pumas split, with Tomas Lavanini and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro alongside South African trio Franco Mostert, Frans Malherbe and Malcolm Marx.
