Owen Franks speaking to big bro Ben to get intel on English props - 'He's had a bit of experience with both'

November 9, 2018

Ben Franks has packed down against Kyle Sinckler and Ben Moon in the English Premiership.

He's got some good intel but Owen Franks says in no way is his brother Ben a spy when it comes to dishing out information on English players ahead of this weekend's Test at Twickenham.

The All Blacks prop told media today he's had a "chat" with his brother and former All Black about opposites Kyle Sinckler and Ben Moon heading into Sunday's match, with Ben having plenty of experience to share about the pair.

"Lucky to have my brother, he plays in the Premiership over here for Northampton so he's had a bit of experience with both guys," he said.

"So I had a chat to him."

When a reporter questioned if Ben was perhaps a "spy in the camp", Franks was quick to shut it down.

"No, he's not in the England camp," he joked.

"He just plays against them."

Franks said both opposites could be big threats.

"Moon's obviously really experienced. He's played for Exeter for a long time so he's obviously a pretty destructive scrummager.

"Playing 10-odd years in premiership isn't easy.

"Both of them look like pretty tidy props."

Franks will pack down alongside rising All Blacks talent Karl Tu'inukuafe for the Test which kicks off at 4am NZT.
