All Blacks prop Ofa Tu'ungafasi is the only change as he moves to the bench with Sione Mafileo named to start at tight-head.

Hooker James Parsons is set to become the sixth Blues player to bring up 100 Super Rugby games for the Auckland franchise on Saturday.

After going down to the Chiefs last Saturday 33-29, Blues coach Leon MacDonald says it is important his side make their opportunities count on attack.

"We need to continue to raise our performances each and every week, cherish our ball more and ensure we come out on the right side of the physical battle at the breakdown," said MacDonald.

The last time the Blues met the Highlanders, the Auckland franchise came out on top 33-26 last month.
