Ngani Laumape called into All Blacks' squad as injury cover for Sonny Bill Williams

The duo starred off the bench in the 52-11 win over France at Eden Park.

The All Blacks have called in Ngani Laumape as midfield back-up for the upcoming Test against Ireland in the wake of the shoulder injury sustained by Sonny Bill Williams yesterday.

Coach Steve Hansen confirmed this morning on the team's arrival in Dublin Laumape had been called in for the Irish clash but Williams should be recovered and available for the Test against Italy next week.

Williams suffered a grade one AC injury during the 16-15 win at Twickenham yesterday.

Laumape's call-up likely comes after the 25-year-old's impressive performance in the black jersey against Japan just over a week ago where he scored a hat-trick in the 69-31 win.

It's uncertain what role he'll play against the world No.2 side though with Ryan Crotty, Jack Goodhue and Anton Lienert-Brown all still available for selection as well.

Laumape has played nine Tests for the All Blacks.
