Kiwi coach Warren Gatland has performed a remarkable U-turn about his future as British and Irish Lions coach, saying that he could be tempted to return to the role in 2021.
Gatland led the Lions to a drawn 1-1 series with the All Blacks, however revealed last week that he hated his time on tour in his homeland.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Gatland now says that he would struggle to not be involved with the Lions again, if he were wanted.
"Yeah, it's a hard job to turn down and walk away from. I made those comments about not wanting to do it again because I was pretty hurt," Gatland said.
"As far as me coaching the Lions again, never say never. There is a lot of water under the bridge. The way I was feeling when I said what I said."
The Lions will next be on tour in 2021, when the British and Irish side travel to South Africa to take on the Springboks in a Test series.
