The Maori All Blacks will be without star Nehe Milner-Skudder for their upcoming tour of South America, with the livewire winger suffering a shoulder injury in the All Blacks' win over Japan last weekend.

Milner-Skudder, 27, has been dogged by injuries since his breakthrough season in 2015, and didn't take the field after halftime in the All Blacks' 69-31 win on Saturday night.

The winger has been impacted by both shoulder and leg injuries over the last three seasons, with coach Steve Hansen saying he was unsure over the latest concern.

Milner-Skudder was scheduled to link up with the Maori All Blacks to face both Brazil and Chile, however he has been sent home to New Zealand to recover, replaced by Auckland's Jordan Trainor.
