'The medium rare steak' - All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick ponders set move name for Owen Franks

August 21, 2018

The All Blacks prop is set to bring up his 100th Test cap, but has yet to score a try in his international career.

All Blacks prop Owen Franks is set to play his 100th Test for the All Blacks this Saturday against the Wallabies and has yet to score a try for New Zealand at the international level.

The 30-year-old’s teammates Brodie Retallick and Scott Barrett had a few ideas as to why.

Barrett said Franks' high work rate in the tight five and set piece maybe the reason.

"I'm not too sure to be honest," said Barrett.

"I think he might of got a penalty try from a scrum over the years, so I guess that counts more for him then dotting down himself."

Retallick suggested a possible set-piece move name for the 99-Test front rower.

"The medium rare steak, nah not of what I am aware of," said Retallick.

All Blacks flanker Cane made the remarks teammate Retallick on Sunday.

"Can't give away all the secrets."

If Franks is named to play for the All Blacks this Saturday in the second Bledisloe Cup Test against the Wallabies at Eden Park, he will be the ninth New Zealander to reach 100 Tests for the All Blacks.
