Lima Sopoaga eager to enjoy last year with Highlanders before UK switch

January 17, 2018

The first-five will join English club Wasps after this season.

Highlanders first-five Lima Sopoaga is looking to bring one more Super Rugby title to Dunedin ahead of his move to English Premiership side Wasps.

Sopoaga, 26, will leave New Zealand for the UK at the end of the season, looking to add another Super Rugby crown to his collection after winning the title with the Highlanders in 2015.

Speaking to 1 NEWS, Sopoaga made it clear that he's focused on success at the Highlanders before his departure.

"It was a really tough decision, obviously to leave New Zealand rugby," he said.

"I'm at peace with it now, and just really looking forward to the Highlanders' year."

I'm just going to enjoy my last year in New Zealand."
