Julian Savea feels new All Blacks wing Caleb Clarke has no ceiling for his potential, admitting he feels "flattered" punters are comparing the young powerhouse to how he was in his early years.
Clarke was selected for the All Blacks earlier this month after an impressive season with the Blues where his strength and speed were quickly recognised on the wing.
It's the same style Savea became notorious on his way to earning 54 Test caps, but the 30-year-old believes Clarke has even more to offer.
"He's an awesome player, he's a humble kid," Savea said.
"He works really hard to get where he is."
The fathers of rookie All Blacks, Hoskins Sotutu and Caleb Clarke , also played together for the Blues in the late 1990s.
Savea revealed upon returning to New Zealand from France to live due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he actually trained with Clarke on multiple occasions and youngster left a good impression.
"He's definitely got the talent and he's always seeking advice," Savea added.
"Someone that is that talented that goes into teams willing to learn and has an open mind, there's no ceiling for that."
With his potential immeasurable, Savea said he can't wait to watch how it all pans out.
"He's got a long way to go."
