'It's good having him back' – All Blacks welcome Jerome Kaino with open arms

The All Blacks are delighted with Jerome Kaino's return to the team's training squad, with the veteran flanker having missed the last few weeks for personal reasons.

The flanker was sent home for personal reasons before the first Bledisloe Cup Test last month.

Kaino, 34, hasn't played for the All Blacks since returning home from Sydney, after an Australian newspaper alleged he'd had an affair.

Speaking at today's media conference, assistant coach Ian Foster and players Sam Whitelock and Ardie Savea all expressed their delight at having Kaino back with the side.

"It's great having him back," Foster said.

Kaino left the team last month while preparing for their first Bledisloe Test when reports of an alleged affair surfaced.

"He's been around the whole time I've been involved (with the All Blacks)," Whitelock said.

"The way he trains and plays is awesome."

"It's good to have that older, experienced guy that demands we compete."
