Australian rugby coach Matt Williams has slammed Ireland's performance in this morning's Six Nations clash against Scotland, as the defending champions were made to work for a 22-13 win.
Having fallen in their Six Nations opener to England in Dublin last week, Joe Schmidt's Ireland responded in style, grinding out a hard fought victory to get themselves on the board.
However, Irish-based Australian coach Williams was quick to criticise Ireland's display, nowhere near the level that saw Schmidt's side topple the All Blacks 16-9 last year.
"They're a Formula One car, but they were in third gear," Williams told Virgin Media.
"They tried their heart out and you never question the courage of this team - that's not what anyone is talking about - or their commitment, but their attack was like watching paint dry.
"It was very boring and very one dimensional."
The win sees Ireland move to fourth in the Six Nations standings, before travelling to face Italy in two weeks.
