All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster says that the team are thrilled with the performances of Damian McKenzie at fullback, after the 22-year old's rapid rise to becoming New Zealand's first-choice in the number 15 jersey.
With previous incumbents Ben Smith and Jordie Barrett both unavailable until 2018, McKenzie has been thrust into fullback, where he's played in the All Blacks' three opening Rugby Championship matches.
While McKenzie did appear to struggle at times against Argentina in New Plymouth, Foster said that the team couldn't be happier with the youngster's efforts.
"He's learning all the time," Foster said.
"I'm loving his desire to just play, regardless of what just happened."
"It's a great opportunity for him to have a real long learning process, there's a chance to play regularly, and to realise that Test match rugby is a slightly different beast."
"The Government has to balance pay demands across the public sector. We have gone as far as we can in terms of extra Government money," Dr Clark said this afternoon.
