'I'll be wearing my yellow scarf proudly' – Raelene Castle switches allegiances after landing Aussie rugby's top job

December 12, 2017

The Kiwi was today confirmed as Australian Rugby's new CEO.

New Australian Rugby CEO Raelene Castle has nailed her colours to the mast, labelling herself as a Wallabies fan in spite of her Kiwi heritage.

Castle was today confirmed as taking over Australian Rugby’s top job, tasked with leading the sport back to glory across the Tasman.

Asked where her allegiances now lay, Castle made it clear who she’s supporting when the Bledisloe Cup next rolled around.

"Certainly in the past I cheered for the All Blacks," she said.

"One of the things I’ve learned is going into a new organisation - when you get tasked with delivering outcomes and building relationships with people - those relationships and that success becomes very important. So what you want is those people to succeed."

"I will be wearing my yellow scarf proudly, there’s no doubt about that."
