'If it happens, it happens' - former All Blacks winger Julian Savea solely focused on NPC semi-finals for Wellington

October 18, 2017

Savea said all his time and energy is about getting the Lions back in the Premiership division.

Wellington captain Julian Savea admitted he still has ambitions to wear the All Blacks jersey again but this week his time and energy is all about getting his province back into the NPC Premiership division.

Savea, 27, was left out of the squad for New Zealand's Rugby Championship campaign in August.

"At the moment it's just getting through the semi-finals so the All Blacks are over here (gestures with his hand to his right side), so if it happens, it happens," said Savea.

Wellington take on Northland this Friday night in their Championship semi-final at Westpac Stadium.

Savea had a mixed Super Rugby campaign this year for the Hurricanes, but has slowly started to find some good form for the Wellington Lions in the NPC.

"Very early in the year, haven't heard anything from them (All Blacks) - so as I said not really focused on that just really focused on this week."
