'I'd have sore hammys if I could run as fast as him' - Sam Whitelock impressed by Vaea Fifita's blistering pace

All Blacks duo Sam Whitelock and Ardie Savea have praised teammate Vaea Fifita, even though the flanker sat out of his team's training today.

Fifita shone in the 39-22 win over Argentina, although took a knock to the shoulder in the process.

Speaking at today's media conference, Savea and Whitelock both laughed at the suggestion that Fifita didn't need to train after his showing against Los Pumas.

"He'll be back later in the week," Savea said.

"He's a freak that guy."

When asked if it was understandable that he'd have sore shoulders, Whitelock quickly jumped in.

"I'd have sore hammys if I could run as fast as him!"

Both flankers have proven star-turns in this year's Rugby Championship.
