'He's one of the world's best' – All Blacks welcome back Kieran Read to face Springboks

The All Blacks' captain returns to face South Africa after a week off.

All Blacks captain Kieran Read's comeback can't come soon enough for his teammates, with the number eight due to return to the side against South Africa this weekend.

Read, 32, will come back into Steve Hansen's starting side against the Springboks in Pretoria on Sunday, having been rested for the clash with Argentina in Buenos Aires.

Speaking to media this morning, hooker Codie Taylor spoke about the quality that Read brings to the side.

"He's awesome," Taylor began.

"He's one of the best number eights, if not is.

"His persona on the field and off it is huge to have in this group.

The All Blacks face South Africa in Pretoria on Sunday morning NZT.
