'He's not feeling a hundy' - Beauden Barrett in doubt for Bledisloe Cup Test

October 17, 2017
Steve Hansen confirmed that the prop won't be back until next year with a shoulder injury.

All Blacks first-five Beauden Barrett remains under an injury cloud for this weekend's third Bledisloe Cup Test against Australia in Brisbane, coach Steve Hansen has said.

Barrett, 26, came off the field in the first half of the win over South Africa in Cape Town on October 8 after a head knock, passing the head injury assessment test but remaining on the sideline for the remainder of the match.

Speaking to media today, Hansen said that his star player was still having trouble after the injury, and could miss Saturday's Test.

"He's been getting the odd headache - he's trained but afterwards he's not feeling a hundy so we'll see how he goes during the week and if he's not right he won't play," Hansen told reporters.

"He'll have to pass the tests we do as a team - it's about making good decisions for the player."

Canterbury's Richie Mo'unga has been called into the squad as cover for Barrett, with Lima Sopoaga and Damian McKenzie also options to fill in the number 10 jersey against the Wallabies.
