'He's huge for this team' - Scott Barrett praises veteran All Black Owen Franks ahead of 100 Tests milestone

Barrett says he feels that Franks "is the biggest professional" the NZ side.

Scott Barrett has sung the praises of All Blacks tight-head specialist Owen Franks, ahead of the second Bledisloe Cup Test at Eden Park on Saturday.

The All Blacks forward Barrett spoke to media in Auckland this afternoon, talking up the credentials of front rower Franks, who could be in line to play his 100th Test match for New Zealand in named to play this weekend.

"I think tight-head is probably one of the hardest, if not the hardest position to play I think," said Barrett.

"Credit to Owen like he's a professional off the field.

"His preparation you know he's the biggest professional on this team I feel.'

Barrett says the 30-year-old has a special aura about him and that he brings a lot to the team.

"Playing with him at the Crusaders, he just sets the example.

"He is huge for this team."
