All Blacks hooker Dane Coles knows a fair bit about concussion after missing the majority of the Super Rugby season after a head knock in March, and he believes his teammate Beauden Barrett will be back on the pitch soon after completing a light training session today in Brisbane.
Barrett has been ruled out of Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test with the team's medical staff taking precautions after the first-five suffered a head knock against the Springboks a fortnight ago in Cape Town.
Coles said being side-lined with concussion was terribly frustrating.
"It's a pretty - I suppose a sh*t situation to be in," said Coles.
The 54 Test veteran poked fun at Barrett, saying his injury isn't as bad as what it seems.
"He might be milking it a bit to be honest, today he was out running and doing a bit of gym work," he said.
"It's pretty frustrating that you can't control it but I think he's in a good place."
