'He just jumps into guys' ears' - Israel Dagg transitioning to life off the pitch seamlessly at Crusaders

April 10, 2019

Dagg is helping teammates with their game - and other areas of their life.

Israel Dagg appears to have landed on his feet despite hanging up his boots for good last week.

Crusaders coach Scott Robertson says the 30-year-old has still been a positive factor in the team even though he is no longer a player.

"His influence is good," Robertson said.

"He’ll chip away and he just jumps into guys’ ears – he’s been there recently obviously with the end of his career and all the experiences he’s been through but he just looks back and reflects on it with a positive note.

"He builds up and gives a lot of confidence to the young fellas."

The 30-year-old milked an 'injury' during a game with teammates today.

Robertson added Dagg’s colourful personality is still prominent as well.

"He’s going around and connected with everyone and chucked in a bit of music and dress sense here and there – I don’t know if it’s a good thing!"

Dagg is currently helping the outside backs prepare for Friday night’s home game against the Highlanders.
