'He does train it' - Jordie Barrett on Ngani Laumape's stunning cross field kick

May 16, 2018

Barrett revealed to media that the Hurricanes have kicking threats right across their backline.

Just as you thought the Hurricanes' firepower in the backline couldn't get any better, add cross-field kicking to the resume of the midfielders and wingers.

Utility Hurricanes back Jordie Barrett revealed that Ngani Laumape's cross field kick in the final minutes of the match against the Blues, which led to Matt Proctor's try was a planned and rehearsed move.

"The reason I called it is because I saw that Ngani (Laumape) was there and he does train it," said Barrett.

"I trust in his cool that he could have executed, so we do train it.

"Not just the 10s and 15s, the midfielders, even wingers jump in there because you never know who needs to step up at any time."

The Hurricanes host the Queensland Reds this Friday night at Westpac Stadium.
