Five All Blacks have joined Brodie Retallick on the sideline with injuries for this weekend's Test against Tonga but the quintet should all be available for the World Cup opener against the Springboks.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen confirmed today after the line-up was announced that Sonny Bill Williams, Jack Goodhue, Rieko Ioane, Richie Mo'unga and Sam Cane are all nursing niggles.

While Mo'unga's was well-documented after he hurt his shoulder in last month's Bledisloe win over the Wallabies, the surprise was Ioane, who Hansen said has a leg issue.

"He's got a tight calf," Hansen said.

Hansen added Ioane "would've played" in Saturday's Test had he been fit but he expects the winger, along with the other four, to be available when the All Blacks face South Africa later this month in Yokohama.

"None of the injuries are going to prevent them from being available for South Africa."
