'Don't lose it' - Steve Hansen goes on long-winded biscuit analogy while discussing Aaron Smith selection

Evoking memories of his hilarious cameo in the biscuit commercial, Steve Hansen has compared selecting Aaron Smith at the start of the halfback’s career to biscuit selection.

Evoking memories of his hilarious starring role in a post-apocalyptic biscuit commercial, Steve Hansen has compared selecting Aaron Smith at the start of the halfback’s career to biscuit selection.

Asked whether he had doubts about selecting the diminutive - by international rugby standards - Smith, Hansen launched into his analogy.

“You like different biscuits than Gregor does,” he started.

“You take the one you like, don’t you? Eventually if there’s only one biscuit left, you take it, then you find out you do like it,” he said, apparently referring to Smith and maybe smaller, faster halfbacks.

“He’s not a bad biscuit is he,” he continued in reference to Smith.

The All Blacks' coach sits on a motorbike as he appears in the ad due to be released later this year.

“Don’t lose it,” he concluded, echoing his famous line from the ad.
