Christchurch's rugby fever still at an all-time high as sell-out crowd turns up for All Blacks' trial game

August 10, 2018

The game of three halves is being played against players from Otago and Canterbury.

Rugby fever is again at an all-time high in Christchurch with the All Blacks taking on Canterbury and Otago in tonight's game of three halves.

Despite the Super Rugby Final being held at AMI Stadium less than a week ago, the power of the black jersey has pulled fans through the gates to make it a sell-out event.

"It's absolutely fantastic," fan Brad Tindall said.

"The opportunities don’t come around much in Christchurch so as soon as we heard about it, we were here."

The first match features Canterbury and Otago before the provincial teams take on the All Blacks one after the other.
