Beauden Barrett relaxed over speculation he could leave All Blacks for overseas

February 19, 2019

The Hurricanes star is reportedly in demand from several overseas clubs.

All Blacks and Hurricanes star Beauden Barrett says he's in no rush to decide where his future lies, as he prepares for a colossal 2019 season.

Barrett, 27, has been touted as one of many All Blacks to leave New Zealand after this year's World Cup in Japan, with French outfit L'Equipe in September reporting a $2.6m per-year deal with an unnamed French club, with the star's current New Zealand Rugby deal up at the end of 2019.

Returning to training with the Hurricanes after an extended summer break though, Barrett played down talk of his next move, saying he's solely concentrating on playing.

"It's all sort of taking care of itself," he began.

"I'm at ease mentally, it's not bugging me at all.

"As far as I'm concerned, I've moved on. I'm just focused on playing footy. In time, I'll make a decision and move on with it, get the formalities out of the way."

Barrett won't be in contention for this weekend's clash with the Crusaders.
