Aquaman star Jason Momoa rocks All Blacks jersey to support Kiwi Sevens boys in Vancouver

March 11, 2019

The All Blacks Sevens have got some added star power behind them for the remainder of their Vancouver campaign after a loud and proud Jason Momoa was spotted on the sidelines in an All Blacks jersey supporting them.

Momoa, who is best known for his acting performances in Game of Thrones and most recently Aquaman, shook the Kiwi players’ hands before their game against Argentina this morning.

The All Blacks Sevens were playing Argentina after losing a heartbreaking Cup quarter-final to Fiji earlier where the Pacific powerhouse scored the game-winning try at the final whistle.

This time, it was the All Blacks Sevens’ turn to snatch a win at the death though as Te Puoho Stephens scored on the final play to give New Zealand side a 26-21 win.

The try got Momoa out of his seat and standing on railing to celebrate.

Momoa, who is of Hawaiian decent, has expressed his love for New Zealand and its culture while promoting Aquaman in recent months, even performing haka alongside Kiwi star Temuera Morrison on red carpets at premieres.

While the All Blacks won't be performing a haka today in Vancouver - a tradition they save only for winning a tournament - they still have a chance to delight Momoa and other fans once more when they play England in the fifth place final this afternoon.
