All Blacks newbies Asafo Aumua and Matt Duffie named in Barbarians clash, Jerome Kaino returns to starting XV

November 2, 2017

Newbies Asafo Aumua, Tim Perry and Matt Duffie have been named on the bench to face the Barbarians.

The All Blacks have named three newbies on the bench against the Barbarians, with veteran loose forward Jerome Kaino returning for the New Zealand side - named to start on Sunday morning in London.

Newbies Asafo Aumua, Matt Duffie and Tim Perry will get their first chance at donning on the black jersey - all named on the bench for this Sunday's match.

First-five Beauden Barrett has been named to start and has been given the captaincy for the New Zealand team.

Kaino will start at number eight, playing his first All Blacks match since the British and Irish Lions series in July.

David Havili has been given the nod to start at fullback with re-called back Seta Tamanivalu named to start on the left wing after his impressive NPC form for Taranaki.

Ngani Laumape pairs up with Anton Lienert-Brown in the midfield with TJ Perenara given the start at halfback over Aaron Smith.

Ardie Savea is named at openside flanker with Vaea Fifita starting at blindside flanker.

The former NRL winger has been named on the bench for the All Blacks to face the Barbarians in London.

Former NRL winger Duffie said he looks forward to putting on the All Blacks jersey for the first time.

"It's pretty special and hopefully I can get a few minutes on the weekend," said Duffie.

"I probably haven't had a huge reflection on it because they named it at the start of training and I had a lot of stuff in my head about plays and all that sort of stuff."

The All Blacks match against the Barbarians kicks off at 4am (New Zealand time) at Twickenham Stadium.
