All Blacks front row trio firming for Mitre 10 Cup injury returns

October 10, 2018

Steve Hansen says the hooker isn't far from a return to the pitch.

The All Blacks will welcome the return to action of three key players, with front rowers Dane Coles, Nepo Laulala and Joe Moody all vying to make their comebacks from injury in this weekend's Mitre 10 Cup action.

Coles, 31, hasn't played since last year's All Blacks end of year tour after a knee injury, but has been a part of the All Blacks' squad during this year's Rugby Championship.

The dynamic hooker should find himself back on the field this weekend, expected to be on the bench in Wellington's clash with Taranaki on Friday in New Plymouth.

Meanwhile, Moody and Laulala will square off against one another when Canterbury visit Counties Manukau on Saturday.

Moody, 30, has been out of action since breaking his thumb against the Wallabies at Eden Park in August, while Laulala has been sidelined with a broken forearm since the beginning of March.
