Another Whitelock is leaving New Zealand shores.
Adam Whitelock has signed with French club Bayonne on a 20-month contract which he will take up at the end of the current ITM Cup season.
The 27-year-old midfielder has played over 50 games for both the Crusaders and Canterbury and concedes it was a difficult decision to make.
"I have had the most amazing six years playing for these teams. I have been fortunate enough to play with my three brothers for much of the time that I have been here and also with such an awesome group of players, coaches and management.
"Playing in France is something I've always wanted the chance to do and I believe the timing is right," Whitelock said.
Whitelock made his Canterbury debut in 2008 and has been part of all six of their ITM Cup titles he was also represented New Zealand in the All Black Sevens squad.
Adam's brother George has signed to play in Japan with the Panasonic Wild Knights.
