Aaron Smith says All Blacks can be 'better,' not happy with 'average' set piece attack

The All Blacks halfback believes his side can improve after their first Bledisloe Cup win over the Wallabies.

All Blacks half Aaron Smith believes his side can get "better" after their first Bledisloe Cup win over the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference today in Auckland, Smith outlined his frustrations, saying the All Blacks failed to execute on attack at set piece time.

"We can take a lot of positives from the weekend but there are heaps of learnings and opportunities for us too to get better," said Smith.

"That's what we are focusing on after a review this morning."

The All Blacks got rid of any lingering soreness from the Sydney Test by getting to work in the weight room.

The 29-year-old scored the first try in the All Blacks' 38-13 win over Australia at ANZ Stadium, but admitted there is still a lot to improve on for the men in black.

"There is a few things, don't want to give away too much or give them (Wallabies) any fuel or insight, but we just want to improve our game.

"Get it to a standard where we want it to be, but I think you just need to look at our set piece attack firstly, it was pretty average," he said.

"And we got nothing off that. There is an opportunity this week to fix it."

The All Blacks host the Wallabies at Eden Park in Auckland this Saturday and have the chance to wrap up the Bledisloe Cup series for another year with a win.

The inside backs and apparent gym partners pushed one another as the All Blacks celebrated being back on home soil with a session in the weight room.

"If given a chance I know there is a few of us that would like to make it a lot better (set piece).

"Something we pride ourselves on is always been our set piece attack, but credit to Australia to be able to defend and show different pictures."

It has been 16 years since the Wallabies have won the Bledisloe Cup trophy off the All Blacks.
