An amateur MMA fighter may be re-evaluating whether he wishes to continue in the octagon after being on the receiving end of one the most brutal knockouts the sport has ever seen.
Englishman Solomon Rogers was in a welterweight bout with Poland's Samuel Ilnicki at last week's Golden Ticket Fight Promotions: Fight Night 7 in Wolverhampton, UK when his hopes of an impressive debut was dashed by a brutal kick to the head.
Less than three minutes into the opening round of their fight, Ilnicki managed to set up Rogers for the deadly blow when he faked out a right overhand punch.
Rogers took the bait and ducked low to his left, exposing himself to an incoming kick square to the head.
The kick landed squarely and the Englishman's lights went out as he buckled and fell face-first into the canvas.
