Watch: Joseph Parker undaunted by Cardiff crowd – 'They can think what they want'

January 17, 2018

The Kiwi heavyweight will face Anthony Joshua in front of 80,000 people on April 1.

Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker says he's unfazed at the prospect of facing British fighter Anthony Joshua in front of 80,000 fans in Cardiff.

With the unification bout between the two finally confirmed for April 1 NZT in Cardiff, Parker will face the WBA and IBF champion in front of the biggest crowd in his career.

Yet, while some would be daunted by the proposition, Parker is using it as motivation as he aims to defend his WBO crown, with his detractors suggesting he'll buckle under the pressure.

"They can think what they want," Parker responded.

"Personally I think it's going to be a great experience - something new, something to look forward to."

"I'm looking forward to walking out in front of 80,000 people. I'm not sure what it's like because I've never done it before."
