Watch: Joseph Parker not giving up on world title dream after Joshua loss – 'We’ll be back'

May 8, 2018

David Higgins says that the Kiwi heavyweight wants another crack at the world title.

Despite losing his WBO title to Britain's Anthony Joshua in Cardiff last month, Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker isn't going away anytime soon, his promoter David Higgins says.

Parker, 26, is looking to return to the ring as quickly as possible, having tasted defeat for the very first time, losing to Joshua via a unanimous decision to hand his WBO heavyweight title to the Brit.

Speaking to 1 NEWS today though, Higgins says that Parker is desperate for another shot at becoming a world champion.

"He wants to get back into it as quickly as possible, and he wants to have another run at the world title, he wants to win it again and then unify," Higgins said.

"It's not how you lose, it's how you come back and how you get back on the horse.

"He's still got another five-six years at the top, and so he'll continue to improve. So we might have an undisputed heavyweight world champion from New Zealand and Samoa.

"It might be in three years, it might be in five. We're not finished yet - we'll be back."
