British security is under heavy fire after two imposters wearing fake team gear and plastic medals got on to a float during a parade for Great Britain's Olympians.
The pair were interviewed live on television where they tried to pose as fencers before admitting they had 'blagged' their way on to the parade which was celebrating Olympic heroes as it passed through the streets of Manchester yesterday.
The parade saw members from Team Great Britain jump on and off the float at different points in the parade - the stops manned by security staff and police.
But the pair told the SKY News reporter interviewing them live on television they were simply caught up in the festivities.
"We actually got ushered on, it was actually completely against our will," one said while the other showed off his plastic medal.
"We blag something every now and then but we’re going to get off at the next stop."
Many of the athletes on board the float were reportedly amused by the stunt, but it is putting serious questions on security and police who somehow let the situation unfold.
The British Olympic Association is yet to comment on the events.
