New Zealand heavyweight boxer Junior Fa is still trying to establish his name in the boxing game, but feels with more fights overseas he could possibly cross paths with an old friend - WBO champion Joseph Parker.
The 6'5" Kiwi fighter is set to take on US fighter Fred Latham next month in Cleveland.
Fa, 28, says he feels rejuvenated after changing trainers and mixing up his training with mixed martial art fighters.
"The plan is to get as many fights as I can, I don't think I can get too many fights here (New Zealand) right now," Fa told 1 NEWS.
"My focus will be on the States, my focus will be on the WBO sanctioning body and that's basically the plan."
Fa's heavyweight bout against Latham will be his second fight on American soil and hopes to end it in emphatic fashion.
"My plan is to get ranked in the WBO, get as many fights as I possibly can through them and get my mandatory up."
The Kiwi heavyweight said he would love to take on fellow New Zealand heavyweight champion Parker in the future.
"If he (Parker) still has the belt, it would be a great domestic world championship fight right here in New Zealand. That will be awesome."
As an amateur fighter Fa beat Parker twice and won a bronze medal representing Tonga at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Fa is undefeated with a professional record of 12 wins with seven wins via knockout.
