In a release this afternoon, Team New Zealand have confirmed a "constructed in country" rule for teams challenging in 2021, as well as a nationality requirement for those wishing to represent other nations.
"In recognition of the fundamental condition of the Deed of Gift that the Cup be preserved as a perpetual Challenge Cup for friendly competition between foreign countries, the Protocol will contain a 'constructed in country' requirement for competing yachts and a nationality requirement for competing crew members," the statement says.
The release also says that the Challenger Series will be held in Auckland during summer of 2021, before the America's Cup Match.
The full details of the 2021 America's Cup parameters will be revealed in September.
