Rogue golfer wanders onto track during one of NZ’s most gruelling races

There was plenty of drama in New Zealand’s most gruelling horse race at Ellerslie today.

Dual Great Northern Steeples winner Wize Men Say and two other runners sold out at one fence and then a golfer ran in front of the race leader.

The race caller was not a fan of the weekend hacker who found himself well and truly in the rough.

The favourite Magic Wonder dodged the pitch invader, living up to her name as she led throughout the 6,400m feature.
