The 31-strong team landed around 6am.

A welcome home event will be held tomorrow at 10am at the AUT Millennium Institute on the North Shore.

Paralympics New Zealand said they hadn't initially planned on holding a ceremony, but decided to because there has been so much public interest in the Games.

New Zealand picked up 21 medals at the Games including nine gold, five silver and seven bronze.
