The new Black Sticks women's coach has arrived in the country and had an immediate chance to gel with his team.

Ireland's Graham Shaw took a small part in training yesterday, but doesn't officially take over in his role until next week.

"He's hanging around camp for the next couple of days and on the Aussie game just to observe, he takes over from the 1st of May," said Black Sticks defender Tarryn Davey.

Shaw will be watching from the stands on ANZAC Day when New Zealand takes on Australia in the men's and women's World League games in Auckland.
