Lisa Carrington has claimed another K1 national kayak title, but she had to work for it in the longer 500 metre race.
The Olympic bronze medallist was pushed by K4 teammate Caitlin Ryan on Lake Karapiro.
The duo bower-to-bower halfway through the race before Ryan started to tire, in the end Carrington crossed the line more than a second clear.
