Lisa Adams breaks para shot put world record as sister Dame Valerie watches on

The Kiwi threw 15.28m at the National Track and Field Championships in Christchurch.

Kiwi para shot putter Lisa Adams set a new world record at the New Zealand National Track and Field Championships in Christchurch, throwing 15.28 metres.

Coached by sister and former Olympic champion Dame Valerie, Adams’ throw cleared the world record, which she also held.

Adams set the world record nearly a year ago, throwing 14.52m in West Auckland, this time clearing that and beating her own personal best by 7cm.
