Lawn bowler pulls off 'ridiculous, outrageous' shot during World Indoor Championships match

English lawn bowler Nick Brett has set the World Indoor Bowls Championships alight with one of the best shots the game has likely ever seen.

Midway through the doubles final against No.1 seeds Scotland, Brett was facing a tough challenge finding a way to the jack thanks to a trio of red balls blocking his path.

But partner Greg Harlow gave Brett the one piece of information he needed.

"About six inches between the two bowls, so there is just room," Harlow said.

The analysis was met by laughter from the Norfolk audience but Brett soon silenced them with a stunning piece of skill and accuracy.

Brett went left with his shot as he targetted the tiny channel between two reds and as his bowl approached, the crowd and commentators began to realise the magic unfolding.

Brett's ball rolled perfectly between the two without touching them before lightly touching the jack as it fell into place.

The shot was met by large applause and descriptions of "ridiculous" and "outrageous" from commentators.

To make the moment event sweeter, third-seeded Brett and Harlow went on to win the title 10-6, 6-8, 2-1 - their second championship as a pair.
