Kiwi shot putter Tom Walsh has taken out the men’s final event at the Diamond League in Zurich this morning.
He finished on top of the overall standings of the Diamond League shot put, with an overall score of 33.00 points after competing in five events.
The 26-year-old threw a massive 22.60m in the second round, only seven centimetres shy of his personal best he threw in Auckland at the start of this year.
He beat US thrower Darren Hill (22.40m) and fellow American Ryan Crouser (22.18m) in the final.
