Spanish side Mapfre have claimed another win at the Volvo Ocean In-Port race in Brazil, extending their series lead.
Mapfre, containing Kiwi America's Cup hero Blair Tuke, took a narrow victory, edging out fellow competitors AkzoNobel and Dongfeng Race Team, who finished second and third respectively.
Speaking afterwards, Mapfre skipper Xabi Fernandez spoke about the importance of extending his side's lead.
"Being the series leader is always good. We know how tight the overall race leaderboard is where we're just one point behind Dongfeng, so this could be important at the end of the race and for that we are happy today."
The Volvo Ocean Race sides are currently in port in Itajai, Brazil, before the eighth leg to Newport, Rhode Island begins overnight.
