'It's going to be busy, but in a good way' - Olympic star Eliza McCartney preparing for hectic 2018

Kiwi pole vault sensation Eliza McCartney is preparing for a huge year in 2018, in preparation for not one but, two major events. 

Appearing on TVNZ 1's Breakfast, the 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medalist spoke about what the next 12 months hold in store for her.

"Next year's going to be very interesting, it's a very unusual season," she said.

"We've got two majors - the World Indoor Champs a month before the Commonwealth Games."

Still, despite the packed schedule, the ever bubbly McCartney wasn't too daunted by the task ahead of her.

"It's going to be busy, but in a good way."

"It's gonna be really exciting - there's going to be some really top competitions to go to."
