'It's a bit of a laugh' – Kiwi hockey stars relax with yoga after beating Germany

The Black Sticks women earned themselves a testing form of recovery after topping Germany in their warm up for the World League Final.

After their 3-1 win, the team took to the shores of Auckland’s Takapuna Beach yesterday morning for a relaxing yoga session.

It became apparent quickly that some players were more familiar with the routines than others.

"It's a bit of a laugh," defender Brooke Neal said.

"It's quite funny, seeing the flexibility levels of some girls. Hopefully we’ll be able to get a bit lower!"

The Blacks Sticks had their final turf session last night before they take on the world champion Dutch side in their first match of the world league final which starts tomorrow.
