Joseph Parker's trainer is vowing to get the Kiwi heavyweight back to the top after his world title fight with Anthony Joshua, saying his loss in Cardiff will help him in his journey.
The Kiwi heavyweight and his team were greeted by fans and media at Auckland International Airport this morning after Parker's unanimous decision loss to Joshua on Sunday.
Barry told reporters there would be a meeting later this week to decide the next step forward for Parker.
"Joe's still the youngest at the age of 26 out of any of the top guys in any of the sanctioning bodies' top 10s," he said.
"We're going to get back there fast - I'm going to sit down with David Higgins and Joe at some point in the next week and we'll do a debriefing of this whole event and we'll put a plan in place straight away to get Joseph Parker back where he should be at the top of the division."
Parker reminded Barry that since they were back home, there would also be time for some well-earned relaxation.
"We're gonna do some fishing," he said.
"I promised Kev I'd take him out on a boat, show him how to catch a snapper, maybe dive for some kina."
